Connect with yourself again

How long has it been since you felt genuine joy, love, openness, and freedom?

We all hold unconscious tension in our bodies. It’s a natural defense mechanism. These tensions, or holding patterns, are created when we go through difficult physical, or emotional experiences in life.

For example, the only way to hold back sadness from being felt or expressed is to constrict certain parts of our bodies. In order for us to hold back sadness, we may constrict the muscles around our eyes to stop us from crying. We may tighten our throats and jaws to hold back what we want to say. We may constrict our respiratory muscles to stop us from sobbing.

While these moments of constriction happened in our past, we keep carrying them around, preventing us from feeling and expressing ourselves fully.

Through BMF breathwork, we can teach the body to let go of these holding patterns, so we can get back in touch with our bodies, emotions, pleasures of life, and create lasting change.

are emotions really held in the body?

Soldier before and after four years of war

In this picture, you can see a soldier before (left) and after (right) 4 years of war.

Take a moment and really look at it.

On the left, we can attune to sense of purpose, some cockiness, and confidence. His face gives off a “gambler” feeling.

Now take a look at the picture on the right. Feel all of the unexpressed and unfelt emotions still held in his face.

Notice the rigidity in his face. The tension in his forehead and eyebrows. Notice the tension in the jaw and lips. Notice the terror, alertness, and sadness in his eyes. His body is still living the horrors he went through.

This is an extreme example, but we all do this to some extent. We hold in the body whatever we don’t want to feel.

A Look Inside the method

As opposed to giving you peak experiences, the BMF Method aims to create lasting change, through a gentle release of the body’s holding patterns.

The BMF Method uses potent breathing techniques, empowering movements, and clear self-observation to create lasting change in your life.

It’s meant to help you connect back with yourself, and let go of your anxieties and worries about the future. It’s meant to create a safe environment in the body, where you can be present and receive life as it happens.

Pleasure, love, power, voice, intelligence, creativity, peace, joy, and freedom. All of that and more is your birthright. It may be time to start reclaiming it.

João Tomé

Breathwork Facilitator

In a world where growth and support go hand in hand, João’s involvement with self-development started 10+ years ago with an earnest and meaningful interest in fitness.

After years of exploration and curiosity, the realm of fitness eventually led João to dive deep into a more fulfilling personal path of yogic practices and therapeutic modalities.

As a rigorous student and practitioner of the Realization Process by Judith Blackstone for the last 4+ years as well as being trained and mentored by Andrew Bishop in the Bishop Method, João’s commitment to personal embodiment and supporting others is not only sincere, but also uniquely open to embracing and including as many modalities as possible.

João paves a path to help men and women radically return to their bodies; to reclaim the naturalness of the heart, and to enjoy relaxing into our truest self.
